Blinkeze® External Lid Weights
Blinkeze® External Lid Weights offer the physician a new approach to supportive eye care for the treatment of facial paralysis. The weight simply uses gravity to gently close the upper eyelid when the patient looks down, or when the eyelid muscle is relaxed. MedDev offers Blinkeze External Lid Weights in a variety of skin tone colors to match a patient’s complexion.
Blinkeze External Lid Weights are manufactured from 99.99% pure tantalum, a dense metal with high biocompatibility. The weight is available in a treatment kit, which includes 100 double-sided hypoallergenic adhesive strips for attaching the weight, a mirror and easy-to-understand instructions.
Contour® Eyelid Implants
Contour® Eyelid Weight Implants feature a proprietary three-dimensional design that conforms to the curvature of the ocular globe. The Contour Eyelid Weight Implant is less conspicuous when implanted in the eyelid because the tapered lower edge and rounded lower corners create a lower profile.
ThinProfile®
ThinProfile® Eyelid Weight Implants feature a 35% reduced implant thickness combined with a proprietary three-dimensional design that conforms to the curvature of the ocular globe. ThinProfile implants are less visible than the popular Contour design when implanted because all implant edges are precisely tapered and corners are smoothly rounded.
A lower risk of extrusion has been reported when ThinProfile Platinum implants were compared with gold implants1. Patients with clinical characteristics of excessively thin upper eyelid skin with an associated increase in the risk of extrusion may benefit from ThinProfile’s reduced thickness.
